Our commitment is to Health, Safety and Sustainability for future generations, so we have spent the last few years rigorously researching and developing the world’s first and only Organic Fur Fabric. We did not stop there - We make sure that our fibers are certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
What is GOTS?
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading international body that sets the standard for processing organic fibres. "GOTS is recognized as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well". Please feel free to Contact Us if you have any questions about GOTS certification for our teddy bears.
GOTS Certified Organic Cotton
Turns out, not all cotton is created equal. While traditional cotton undergoes waves of pesticides, fertilizers and post-harvest treatments, our cotton is clean. The all-natural farming and processing methods of our organic cotton fabrics are developed without a host of chemicals. Our bears deliver the classically soft and reliable cotton feel, plus a few good feels for sustainability. Win-win!
Certified Organic Hemp
This miracle fiber is a long-overdue addition to the mainstream fabric market. Hemp is remarkable in its diversity, just like some precocious kids we know. No other all-natural fabric endures the knock-down, drag-out lifestyle of an energetic child. And for you sensitive types, hemp shines as a naturally antibacterial option. Hemp wears well too, so your bear will only get better over time.
The materials used to create Bears for Humanity’s organic faux fur are developed with the strictest guidelines on sustainability and hand-feel. This proprietary fabric is the culmination of over 20 years of development by leading organic experts, a true testament to the socio-conscious mission of Bears for Humanity.
